Platsen för BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2026 är nu fastställt – under sensommaren 2026 går det legendariska offroad-äventyret av stapeln i Rumänien.
Därmed väljer BMW Motorrad för andra gången en europeisk destination. Efter tidigare upplagor med vidsträckta sanddyner och öppna stäpplandskap återvänder evenemanget nu till bergsterräng. Täta skogar, slingrande grusvägar, flodpassager samt branta upp- och nedfarter kommer att prägla årets utmaningar.
År 2026 blir BMW R 12 G/S officiell motorcykel i GS Trophy. Rumänien är känt för sin storslagna natur och varierade landskap – från de majestätiska Karpaterna till böljande kullar och bördiga slätter. För offroad-entusiaster bjuder Karpaterna på en utmanande terräng med branta stigningar, steniga stigar och täta, djungelliknande skogar.
Landet har också ett rikt kulturarv med medeltida slott, fästningar och kyrkor. Här finns bland annat det världsberömda Bran-slottet, ofta förknippat med Dracula-legenden. Rumänien är en levande mix av traditioner och folklore.
Även om starten ännu ligger en tid framåt, bjuder nationella och internationella kvaltävlingar på en försmak av vad som väntar. Totalt arrangeras åtta nationella kval och ett internationellt kval, där skickliga offroadförare får möjlighet att visa prov på sina färdigheter.
För att säkra en plats i ett av de 15 nationella lagen krävs prestationer i GPS-navigering, tekniska tester och utmanande offroad-moment. Totalt kommer nio herrlag och sex damlag att få uppleva äventyret.
